Kaff is like Goodreads for coffee shops. Rate the places you try and follow the people whose taste you trust.

Why I built it

When I started this, there wasn't anything like it. My friends and I had a group chat called Latte Raters where we swapped our favorite spots, and eventually someone said, "why don't you just build it?" So I did.

My favorite part of that chat was seeing a text come through with a shop name that wasn't local and realizing a friend was traveling. I wanted Kaff to keep us connected to the people we know and help us meet new coffee shop lovers.

I believe coffee shops are a pillar of community. I met our first app developer at my local one. Kaff is all of coffee shop culture in one little app.

The team

Tina Cheesman, Cofounder. Tina is the friend who said "why don't you just build it?" and became Kaff's first investor. She has believed in it since the start and joined as Cofounder in 2025.

Evan Aspaas built the first version of Kaff. He was a barista at Jazzy's local coffee shop when they met, and after talking about the app he knew he had to work on it. He built it alongside his full-time job until July 2026, and the app still runs on the foundation he built.
