Terms of Use
Last updated: October 20, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Kaff Inc. ("Kaff", "we"), a Delaware corporation operating in California. They cover the Kaff app and website. By creating an account or using Kaff, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Kaff.
1. Who can use Kaff
You must be 16 or older. If you are under 16, you may not create an account or use Kaff. You must give accurate information at signup, including your real date of birth. You may not use Kaff if you are barred from doing so by law or if we have removed your account for breaking these Terms.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for your password and for activity on your account. Tell us at privacy@kaffapp.com if you think someone else has access.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone or use a username that is misleading or offensive.
- We record when you accept these Terms and which version, so we can show what you agreed to.
3. What Kaff is
Kaff helps you find coffee shops, rate and review them, share what you drink, and follow other people. Shop information, such as names, locations and hours, comes from third parties and your fellow users, and can be out of date. Check with the shop before you travel. Kaff focuses on local coffee shops. If a shop is missing you can add it, but we do not list large chains such as Starbucks.
4. Your content and our license to use it
You keep ownership of what you post, including reviews, ratings, photos, lists and profile details ("Your Content"). To run Kaff, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt (for example, resize a photo) and distribute Your Content in and for the app, website and our promotion of Kaff. This license lasts as long as Your Content is on Kaff and for a reasonable time after you remove it, while copies clear from backups and caches. It does not give us the right to sell your content to others.
You promise that you own Your Content or have the right to post it, and that it does not break the law or anyone else's rights. You are responsible for what you post.
We may use anonymized, aggregated information that does not identify you, as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Community rules
When you use Kaff, you agree not to:
- Post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit, or that exploits or endangers a child.
- Post someone else's private information, or photos of people who have not agreed to be shown.
- Write fake, paid, traded or incentivized reviews or ratings, review a place you have not visited, or review a business you own or work for without saying so.
- Spam, advertise, scam, or ask for money or personal details.
- Copy or use content that belongs to others without permission.
- Scrape, copy or collect data from Kaff by automated means, or build a competing dataset from it.
- Interfere with Kaff, probe it for weaknesses, bypass security, or reverse engineer the app.
- Use Kaff to break any law, or help someone else do so.
6. Reporting and removal
You can report a user or a piece of content from the app. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or end accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk, with or without notice. We are not obliged to monitor content, and we do not endorse anything users post. We may also remove any shop listing that does not fit Kaff, including large chains such as Starbucks, and delete the ratings, reviews, photos and other activity attached to it.
If you think content on Kaff infringes your copyright, email privacy@kaffapp.com with a description of the work, where it appears on Kaff and your contact details. We will review it and may remove it.
7. Third-party content and services
Kaff shows maps, place information and links that come from other companies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their accuracy or availability, or for what you do with them. Their own terms apply when you use them. Shop details, hours and photos shown from outside sources are for your convenience and may change without notice.
8. Ending your account
You can stop using Kaff at any time and delete your account in Settings. We can suspend or end your account as described in section 6. What happens to your data after deletion is explained in the Privacy Policy. Today, deleting your account removes your login and marks your profile as deleted, and your posts and photos are removed manually within 24 hours. Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends, such as 4 (license for content already shared), 9, 10, 11 and 12, will continue.
9. Disclaimers
Kaff is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we do not promise that Kaff will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any information on it, including reviews, ratings and shop details, is accurate or complete. User content reflects the views of the user, not Kaff. Visit places and meet people at your own judgment and risk. Some places do not allow limits on certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Kaff and its owners, officers and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of Kaff. Our total liability for any claim related to Kaff is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or willful misconduct.
11. Your responsibility
You agree to cover losses, claims and reasonable legal costs that come from Your Content or from your breaking these Terms or the law, to the extent the law allows. We will tell you about any claim we want you to cover, and you will cooperate with us.
12. Governing law and disputes
Governing law. These Terms are governed by California law and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Informal resolution first. Before either side starts a lawsuit, we both agree to try in good faith to settle the dispute informally. Email privacy@kaffapp.com with a description of the problem and what you want, and give us 30 days to respond.
Courts. If the dispute is not settled, it must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Riverside County, California, and you and Kaff agree to those courts. Either of us may also bring a qualifying claim in small claims court in Riverside County or in the county where you live. This section continues after your account ends. Consumers outside California keep any rights their local laws give them that cannot be waived.
13. Changes to Kaff and these Terms
We may change or stop parts of Kaff at any time. We may update these Terms, and when we do we will update the date above. For material changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect, where we can. If you keep using Kaff after the effective date, you accept the new Terms. If you do not accept them, delete your account.
14. Apple and Google
If you get Kaff from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard license terms apply to your use of the app and are part of these Terms, and Apple is not responsible for supporting or maintaining Kaff, or for claims about it. The same is true for Google Play and Google's terms. Kaff, not Apple or Google, is responsible for the app and for any claims about it. Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms for the app you downloaded from them.
15. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Kaff about Kaff. If a part of them is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a part, that is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example if Kaff is bought or merged.
